Johnny ‘The Savage’ Scoville

Today we focus on Johnny ‘The Savage’ Scoville, from Reno, Nevada, USA who is known worldwide for his mega-popular Chase The Heat YouTube show. Prior to taking an in-depth look at Johnny’s chilli credentials, let us remember why these brave chilli heads are gonna suffer for our entertainment on April 4th. They are hoping to raise money for the Australian wildlife that suffered from those atrocious fires in Australia earlier this year.

Johnny is one of the most recognisable and influential chilli heads on the planet and has been invited to and attended chilli festivals and events all over the world, including Australia, New Zealand, The Philippines, The UK and Belgium as well as multiple states in America. His YouTube channel, Chase The Heat, is one of the most popular chilli channels in the world. Not only does Johnny review pods and hot sauces with gusto and aplomb, he has somewhere between 150-200 chilli challenges on his channel! His motto: If it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing!

Johnny is a walking talking capsaicin heat gauge! Anybody who watches him can actually see how his tolerance seems to fluctuate and oscillate depending on his pepper consumption. He is a chilli legend because he puts the ‘human’ in super-human, we can see his tears and pain, but he makes it look enjoyable and defines the ‘Beast Mode’! If you want to see somebody experience a capsaicin high – go check him out on Chase The Heat!

The craziest thing Johnny has ever done heat-wise has to be an entire pot of Mad Dog 357 Plutonium No. 9, not once but on two different occasions! And we have heard that he will do it again on the 10th of April! Also, Johnny has eaten multiple Carolina Reapers whilst skydiving, won multiple chilli eating contests including a Cognoscenti Rules match at the LOF Big Trouble In Little London event, completed 2 back-to-back Chug Challenges, 3 Tubes of Terror in one sitting along with multiple other crazy challenges involving the Tubes, the MOAB, the Chilli Cherry Nightmare, the Nemesis and loads more! Let’s not forget that WHOPPING 7 BITES in one sitting! Johnny has one of the most impressive chilli challenge chronicles on the planet!

What is his weakness, we hear you ask! Johnny has been beaten in chilli eating contests, which, when we recollect those events, lead us to appreciate how his tolerance seems to go up and down depending on his chilli consumption. He seems to benefit from training, and boy oh boy has he been training for the big Spoonfuls of Terror event! His tolerance would currently appear to be right off the scale. So, with that in mind, we feel like he would win any challenge he entered right now. But there is one other vulnerability we can think of in this chilli Goliath! He runs his channel in a wholesome and edifying manner. His is a family show and any appearance he makes on screen this mantra is adhered to. He will never swear, curse, spout opinionated current affairs, religious or political topics and, importantly, he would never regurgitate on screen. If Johnny gets that feeling just for one minute, he could be tempted to end his challenge rather than risk any potential for being sick on camera. These 10 Tubes could be the most brutal challenge he has ever undertaken and we think he would rather remove himself than risk his body suddenly rejecting the peanuts on screen!

LOF Prediction for the Spoonfuls of Terror Challenge: 8 Tubes

Yes, you’re thinking that’s a lot of Tubes and we think so too! But these are Johnny’s Tubes! He developed these bad boys and if you’re reading this you must go check out Chase The Heat and see the recent videos! Johnny means business! He has trained himself into an absolute machine and we think he will give this everything he has plus a chilli on top! We are concerned about his fear of being sick on camera, this is a family show after all! It could be that he starts to get a Tube twist in his stomach and succumbs to that fear of being sick on screen. We know that he will prefer to retire from the competition rather than be sick on screen and so that is the reason we think he will push himself to an incredible 8 Tubes, but that 9th Tube may just be a nut too far!
