Today we focus on Dustin ‘Atomik Menace’ Johnson, from Las Vegas, Nevada, USA who is known worldwide and is mega-popular for having arguably the highest tolerance to capsaicin on the planet. Prior to taking an in-depth look at Dustin’s chilli credentials, let us remember why these brave chilli heads are gonna suffer for our entertainment on April 4th. They are hoping to raise money for the Australian wildlife that suffered from those atrocious fires in Australia earlier this year.

Within the chilli community Atomik Menace is a household name. Any person who is somehow involved and has an understanding of competitive chilli eating knows the name! Dustin is a man of few words but has an almost celestial existence among chilli aficionados who believe he actually possesses a super power regarding capsaicin. And his previous challenges prove that maybe he has! He holds the world record for the number of Carolina Reapers eaten in one sitting along with the current world record for the most Tubes of Terror eaten in one sitting AS WELL AS the world record (jointly held with Roger Trier) for the most LOF Chug Challenges back-to-back! Oh, and let’s not forget he is the world record holder and LOF table topper for the Nemesis challenge too! He also won Ed Currie’s Facemelter chilli eating contest last summer demonstrating that he is a formidable speed eater too, settling that battle by beating the US Chili Queen Bella in a race finale. The craziest thing about all of the above is that during all these victories and achievements he hardly broke a sweat!
Finding a weakness in the Atomik Menace is impossible. Basically, you have to be brave and competitive to stand a chance in competition against him. His only slip up came at the LOF Cognoscenti Rules ‘Mutually Assured Destruction’ contest in Sacramento last year when he was beaten in a speed finale by Shahina UKCQ, after an insane amount of Troy Primo’s hottest peppers. The Spoonfuls of Terror challenge, although having a competitive edge, is more like a group challenge and a sole winner is not the objective, so there will be no speed race finale. In all honesty, we think this chilli super hero will complete all 10 Tubes and defend his ownership of the Tube of Terror world record. If we must be captious, we could point to Atomik’s aftermath video relating to his 10 LOF Chug Challenges in which he says ‘…It just hurts, I just figured everybody would wanna see it hurt… Yeah I feel pain, this is one of the worst ones too’! So maybe he does feel pain after all!

LOF Prediction for the Spoonfuls of Terror Challenge: 10 Tubes
Yep! You read that correctly! We think Atomik Menace can do the inconceivable! This chilli icon could well complete every single nut in this upcoming challenge. If he is to stumble it will be because something unfortunate happens like a choke or if he needs to remove himself for some other reason! However, all things considered, we think the entire 10 Tubes will NOT be a nut too far!
